Stockbridge assessors said the fiscal 2027 tax classification hearing will likely fall on October 29, after the state approved new valuation figures. Staff presenter Mike told the Board of Assessors that new growth for fiscal 2027 came to roughly $11 million in valuation, adding about $81,000 to the town's tax levy capacity. The board must finalize an overlay number, now a cumulative account holding close to $200,000, and vote on residential and small-commercial exemption recommendations at its October 20 meeting.
Mike also flagged that tax bill printing may be outsourced, a move he called unnecessary: "we could get those bills out in four days flat," board member Chris said. Separately, the state pushed the Chapter 61A land-renewal filing deadline from October 1 to December 1.
