Other Committee · Meeting of October 22, 2026
STOCKBRIDGE — The Stockbridge Bowl Stewardship Committee voted 4-0 with one abstention to invite town counsel to its November 12 meeting on a possible float plane ban. Member Tom Finan moved the motion after months of confusion over how to get legal guidance before approaching MassDOT's aeronautics division; Harbor Master Gary Kleinerman abstained, saying "I really think we need to give her something to think about." Kleinerman also reported 4,263 boats inspected at the town ramp this season, with 92.7 percent non-motorized and 304 power boats, and said one boat-ramp inspector died last week. The committee welcomed Ben Rock of GZA, replacing longtime limnologist Ben Burpee, and scheduled an October 28 meeting with White Engineering on Lily Pond siltation.
