Other Committee · Meeting of October 30, 2026

Stockbridge's fire station committee ranked four candidate sites for a new fire and EMS station. The Fire Station Planning Committee voted by voice to recommend the DPW sewer-treatment lot first, 5 Glendale Road second, the Berkshire Botanical Garden corner lot (44.1) third, and Lot 44 with part of 44.1 fourth. Consultant John McMillan's draft feasibility study put a very preliminary budget near $23 million and dropped sites carrying conservation restrictions.

The owners of 5 Glendale Road are asking nearly $1.5 million. Member Bruce Auerbach said he hoped the town could negotiate with the garden. The committee plans to present the list to the Select Board on Nov. 5.
