Fire committee forms two-member CBA liaison group
Other Committee · Meeting of August 13, 2026
Stockbridge Fire Station Planning Committee forms a two-member group to liaise with design consultant CBA. Chair Peter Socha and member Scott Muir will handle routine coordination with CBA between full meetings, a structure members said was designed to avoid creating a quorum under the open meeting law. CBA told the committee a building square-footage program and cost-per-square-foot estimate are three to four weeks out after a morning space-needs session with fire department staff.
Skanska project manager Aaron Singer floated site visits to comparably sized stations, including a newly opened Taunton facility. Deputy Fire Chief Michael Meagher told the committee Stockbridge Fire expects its ambulance license this weekend, making it the primary Basic Life Support provider for Stockbridge and West Stockbridge, running "two type five trucks" while staff complete paramedic training. The committee set its next meeting for September 17 at 11:30 a.m.
