Stockbridge approves license, cupola work continues
Select Board · Meeting of September 3, 2026
Stockbridge board hears cupola collapse risk, dam still rated "poor." The Select Board unanimously approved a one-day all-alcoholic-beverages license for a Sept. 20 Tanglewood event, a new appointee-notification process, and the appointment of Amy Jamrog to the Cultural Council. An engineering official warned that pieces of the town office cupola's slate roof could "shoot off the building" during an ongoing custom removal project, prompting two closed zones near the building. A separate report said the Stockbridge Bowl Dam, downgraded to unsafe in November 2025, has recovered to "poor" under a 75-25 state matching grant program still in its letter-of-interest stage.
A 40-year town employee, identified only as Mike, asked the board to revisit how "longevity" pay is awarded to new hires; the board referred the issue to its October 1 meeting. The board also closed with condolences for two longtime Finance Committee members who died recently.
