Stockbridge property transfers dominated by municipal land acquisitions in August
Stockbridge recorded 17 property transfers between Aug. 14 and Sept. 12, but only four disclosed a sale price, ranging from $190,000 to $500,000 with a median of $326,000. The month's top disclosed sale was 3 Church St. at $500,000. The most notable pattern wasn't price: seven properties along Main, Elm, Maple and South streets transferred from Roaring LLC to the Town of Stockbridge on Aug. 21 alone, with no prices disclosed. With most deeds lacking sale prices and several tied to bank or mortgage instruments, the available data doesn't support broader conclusions about market conditions this period.
