Stockbridge Green Committee Preps $1 Million Climate Grant Bid
Other Committee · Meeting of June 10, 2026
Stockbridge Green Committee advances $1 million climate grant bid, tables PACE vote. Members said the town is on track to submit its application for a Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources Climate Leader designation around Aug. 7, with letters of intent ready to sign ahead of a same-day coordination call with DOER's Green Communities Division. The committee declined to formally recommend that Stockbridge opt into the state's Property Assessed Clean Energy financing program, assigning members a 119-page technical document to review first.
Member Laura pressed colleagues on a battery-electric equipment purchasing policy approved roughly a year ago but never sent to the Select Board, saying "that was my issue is that it wasn't implemented." Another member, Neil, reported a recent National Grid bill "over 20 percent higher" than a year earlier. The committee approved its May 6 minutes, correcting a grant figure from $100,000 to $1 million, and adjourned; it next meets July 8 at 9:30 a.m.
