Stockbridge Cemetery Commission Plans New Row Of Cremation Plots
Other Committee · Meeting of April 28, 2026
Stockbridge Cemetery Commission maps out marble post repairs and a new cremation plot row tied to a road move. Vice Chair Candace Currie, filling in for Chair Karen, reported on a walk of the grounds with Highway Superintendent Bob Navin and cemetery consultant Rich Atwood, who recommended a new row of four-foot-by-five-foot urn plots once a driveway is relocated away from a sewer line. Commissioners approved the March 24 minutes as amended and are seeking contractor bids for flagpole-area work, including quotes from Barry Kuzmeskas of Native Stone and stonemason Nate Burratto.
Atwood also recommended against re-limbing root-damaged evergreen hedges, warning "the day is going to come when that center area is going to be full." No new formal votes on cemetery policy language, which commissioners continued to May 26.
