Stockbridge Assessors Board Reviews New State Valuation, Schedules July Meetings
Other Committee · Meeting of June 23, 2026
Stockbridge assessors log a $1.59 billion state valuation, set July dates. The Board of Assessors, whose members Gary, Doug and Chris voted at Tuesday's session, heard from staff member Mike that the Department of Revenue's newly issued equalized valuation for the town is $1,587,444,900, compared with the town's own $1,495,161,601 real-property total on its fiscal 2026 LA-4 filing. Add in roughly $186 million in exempt property, and Stockbridge's total valuation runs close to $1.625 billion, Mike said, calling the two figures "pretty close either way." The board voted unanimously by roll call to enter executive session to review annual charitable-exemption filings for six nonprofits, including Berkshire Theater Group and the Trustees of Reservations, and scheduled its next two meetings for July 7 and July 21.
